About the walk

Two cities, one walk.

Dubrovnik has two layers. Beneath the show, beneath the wildfire and dragons, lies a real city — 450 years of an independent republic that survived empires through diplomacy and stone. This walk holds both layers at once.

For two hours we move between them. We stand at the Jesuit Stairs and I tell you about Cersei's Walk of Shame, then I tell you why those stairs were built in 1738 and what they meant to the Jesuit fathers. We look at Fort Lovrijenac as the Red Keep, then as the fortress that kept Ragusa free from Venice for centuries. The walls are the same. The stories double.

It's the most popular walk because it's the most honest one — Dubrovnik isn't only King's Landing, and it isn't only the Republic of Ragusa. It's both, layered on the same stone, and the best way to understand it is to feel both at once.
"The walls are real. The stories doubled."
Itinerary

Six stops, two stories each.

01
Pile Gate & Onofrio's Fountain
Where every visit to Ragusa has started for 600 years — and where the show's exteriors begin. I'll set up both worlds before we step inside.
02
Stradun — the marble main street
The 300-metre limestone spine that survived the 1667 earthquake and starred in every street scene from season two onwards. History on one side, set photos on the other.
03
Jesuit Stairs
Cersei's Walk of Shame stairs — and a working Jesuit church and college from 1725. The stairs are real, the shame was rented.
04
Cathedral & Sv. Vlaho
Dubrovnik's patron saint, his story, and the cathedral the show carefully kept out of frame so it could stay Dubrovnik in our world.
05
Fort Lovrijenac — the Red Keep
An 11th-century fortress that stopped Venetian expansion, then became Joffrey's home for eight seasons. Same stone, two centuries of stories.
06
West Harbour & the walls
Blackwater Bay in fiction, the harbour that fed an independent republic in fact. We finish overlooking both — the bay where Stannis lost his fleet, and the same bay Ragusan ships sailed home to for 400 years.
